Looking for Parts Diagrams...
...or whatever they're called. You know, like repair manuals have: drawings or photos with numbered bubbles and arrows pointing to the parts saying, "Move this <part name> to the left..." Specifically, I need to know how to find the part that I'm told is on the side of the transmission (which I also don't know how to find) that a tow truck driver disconnected because he didn't have the keys to my 2006 Charger and needed to make it be "in neutral" - it has an automatic transmission. Right now I can't shift gears, but I can make the engine run. In case you're going to reply that I should buy something or pay someone to fix this for me, that's not going to help because I can't afford it. I also don't know who the tow truck driver/company was that did this to ask them to fix it.
First of all, we need to know what engine and trans your car has, they are different. do you have a 4 spd trans or 5 speed trans? your tow truck driver is most likely disconnect the shift cable on the side of the trans, it just pops in and out. your shouldnt have to replace any parts.
if you have a 4 spd, you are looking for something like this (4spd trans has a black oil pan)

if you have a 5spd trans, (has silver/aluminum oil pan), it is on the driver side of the trans.

The cable is #1, tow truck driver probably detached it from #3, you just have to hook it back up
You have to crawl under the car with a flash light to see it.
just a warning.
do NOT go under the car with your Spare tire or hydraulic jack supporting the car, you can kill yourself for trying to save $20.
use a Jack stand!!

I'm not sure if this is what you need to know, but the side of the car says "3.5L High Output" on it. Is that what you meant by engine information? And the shifter has P, R, N, & D on it, with a "-/+" under the D. I'm not sure where to look to find more specific information. I don't have access right now to the paperwork I was given when the car was purchased.
Thank you for the diagrams; that is EXACTLY what I was looking for. And I do have a friend that will let me use their floor jack and jack stands.
