Default Explanation please??!!!

Hi! I have an 06 dodge charger. Can anyone offer an explanation as to why my key wont turn when inserted to lock or unlock the car door? If anything I would think that the remote will give me trouble but no. I have a spare key that does open when I insert it to unlock it. That's weird.

If it is a key that you use regularly and have on your key chain, it is not unheard of that the key can get bent or a tooth chipped from everyday use causing it to work. It may look right to you, but the slightest imperfection in the key will render it useless.

I agree with the bad chip. The sensor isnt recognizing the key so it isnt letting you unlock it with the key. Dealership should be able to fix that pretty quickly
