Default help.....my baby ('08 Charger) is really sick

ok, i am new to this forum and could really use some advice. i have a '08 Charger with 170k miles on her (my husband likes taking road-trips....grrrr). anyway, we left her home while we went on vacation (this time we actually flew). well my daughter was driving her one day and the oil light came on and the car stalled. she was able to get it started again and drove it to the garage where her boyfriend works. he said that it was only a half a quart low on oil but that these cars are known for developing sludge and that the oil pump could be clogged and not getting oil to the engine. (car was fine and no noises when i left). anyway he did oil change and topped off fluids, went to start but car wouldn't start. he said it was the battery, replaced battery, car started, took for test drive, car stalled and had to be towed back to the shop. then he says it was the starter, replaced starter, car still wouldn't start. tried and tried, finally about half hour later car started but as it ran it started developing noise under the hood. shut car off said it needed new engine and nothing more he could do. $250 wasted. had another mechanic friend come look at it. he started it, heard the noise, turned car off. said he didn't think it was the engine but wanted to take it to his shop to check it out. didn't think we should drive it and take a chance of making whatever worse so he had it towed to his shop. when it got to his shop he went to start it and it WOULD NOT start. he has apparently tried everything. he did however notice moisture/water on the underside of engine and feels fairly confident that the noise is coming from the water pump(bearing) and not a rod in the engine, but can't be for sure without starting the car. he says, in order to start the car, i need a new WIN module. this is a dealer part and will need to be towed to dealer for installation. then, if the car will start we still need to determine the noise. my question/concern. do i really have that bad of luck that the WIN module and the water pump or rod went out at exact same time or are both problems related (engine is locked up and that is why car won't start). i asked the current mechanic this question and he tried to assure me that the engine is moving and is not locked but i just can't believe 2 different problems occured at the same time and really feel there is one underlying problem causing both. sorry for the book but wanted to give you as much info as possible. i have not seen or heard my baby since i left for my vacation over 2 weeks ago and it maybe another 2 weeks before i even know what is wrong with her. please help.....thanks for any advice .......
