PO522 check engine code or PO520
Just replaced oil pressure sensor on my 06 Charger RT 3 days ago with an after market after getting the PO520 code for low oil pressure switch defect. Still had the check engine light until I put in a new mopar sensor. Just wanted to let anybody about to swap the sensor know to use the ORIGINAL Mopar sensor from the dealer. I don't know why but aftermarket sensors don't register. It was a pain to swap it, alternator has to come out as well. Just wanted to let everyone know before putting the work in.

Hey bud,
Originally when I got the PO520 code I swapped the sensor for an aftermarket. After reconnecting the battery the check engine came back. Only this time it was code PO522 Oil pressure switch low voltage. I waited two days to see if the light would go away but it didn't, even tried resetting it. I went to the dealer and bought the original oil pressure sensor and put it in. The check engine light turned off without resetting a thing, and stayed off. The price for an aftermarket sensor is $50 and at the dealer it came out to $76. Hope this helps.
