Dodge Charger The Dodge Charger. The car that made its competitors shiver in the 60's is reborn in 2006 into a sleek sedan that can still send the competition home wimpering, the Dodge Charger.

Default hot weather wowes :(

Hi, I have an 07 charger 5.7L ex-cop car. The a/c works fine when I'm going down the road but if I stop and idle for even a short time the temp out the vents goes up to around 68 deg. On a 100 deg humid day, that just doesn't cut it. The car has a new compressor, condenser and dryer assembly, new cooling fan assembly and a new expansion valve. The cooling fan comes on with the a/c and the second fan kicks on when the engine temp gets high enough, but I can't tell if the first one is kicking into high. I was trying to find some wiring schematics but have had no luck. I'm guessing this is an air flow problem, but I may be off target. Anyone else out there solved a similar issue on their charger?

If you've verified everything is working correctly and it still sucks, get a diablo and change your fan settings.

Are you speaking of radiator and condenser fan settings as in fan speed?

Not fan speed but you can change what temps they come on.

Oh...well they come on fine. The problem is still there when the high speed fan comes on for engine cooling. I even added an extra cooling fan that I ran all the time and no luck, so I'm not sure making them run faster (if that is even possible) would help I'm really at a loss.

Take it to an AC shop and have them fix it. My minivan had a similar issue, it had a leak, the local shop fixed it for under $300.

LOL, That's funny. If only it were that simple. The three A/C shops I have been to, I left the "experts" scratching their heads. LOL

What is your ambient air temperature sensor reading? It's possible that if this is not reading correctly it will not signal the actuators to do their job because it thinks it's perpetually 76 degrees...
