Can a person buy a car with a specific serial number?
Does anyone know if Dodge will allow people to purchase a specific serial numbered vehicle. Here's my rationale. I know several Corvette owners that own vintage Vettes. GM has a program to purchase matching serial numbered vehicles. What these folks have done is obtain "bookend" cars. I own a '67 Charger that has been a cherished part of the family for 25 years. As 2017 is the 50th anniversary, I would love to have a "bookend" myself. I can't believe I'm the only one who would be interested in this. With 2016 being the 50th anniversary of the Charger, and the anniversary of Challenger coming soon, I've got to believe there are others out there that would be interested in the option to buy a matching serial number.
Sorry about the wordy build-up. I've checked with a couple of dealers, neither of which knew of any way to accomplish what I'm after. I also tried calling Dodge's customer service line, again with no help. Does anyone know of another means to obtain a specific serial numbered vehicle? Thanks!

Maybe...
I know. You're probably right. However, all three people that I've talked with merely said that they weren't immediately aware of such a program. None of them made any particular effort to loop into the possibility. I just wanted to pose the question to a larger, more diverse audience.

The vintage mopars the serial #'s started with 000001 and went up from there(depending on the # of test vehicles/vip orders etc...). Not even sure how many digits the new ones are. There where also different plants producing them so not sure how that worked. If the serial # you are looking for has already been produced you cant get a duplicate.

Just the serial number.
