I'm with the base group, worried by weight shortfalls I'd still go 5 doors. Though in truth I'm looking forward to replacing hood & trunk with light weight aftermarket pieces. If side impact wasn't such a big deal... well stock doors will probably have to do.

The weight issue is not THAT big a deal. The average Charger from the late 60's early 70's was around 3600lbs stock. The current Dodge Charger even with the 4 doors is around 4100lbs for the SRT-8 model. I also would like to add that these cars are running on 18 & 19 inch wheels too. Those add a lot of weight in their own right.

You factor in a some missing metal for the chopped rear section and you could get back down to say 3800lbs or so....The comparable 2 dr coupes that are V8 powered are all around the 3500-3700lb mark. The GTO is 3725lbs, the Cadillac XLR is roughly 3650lbs, and the Mustang GT is 3500lbs. I excluded the Vette because its just a different type of car. Now, I will also say that yeah those doors look extremely heavy, and also this car was never designed for a 2 dr styling.

However, imagine if it HAD?!?! It could very well have come with a smaller door setup and a lower weight. I simply posted these pictures to let you see what it COULD have been.....

I honestly would have purchased this car in a 2dr setup. I like the lines of the 2dr look better then the 4dr. It has nothing to do with the car itself, as I think the 4dr looks decent.

Just want to say I've seen so many pictures of this car... Anyone that's seen it in person has said it's amazing.. If they offered it in a 2 Door.. I probably wouldn't get it since i Just got rid of my 2 door.. But the work is amazing and seamless... They out did themselves with this car...
