Default Is there a potentiometer for the throttle?

On my 2010 police charger, I have a surging at part throttle until I give it more gas and then it accelerates pretty good. Also, it seems I have to press the pedal down a ways before it starts to accelerate smooth...seems like it has a dirty/worn pot, like the electric forklifts I work on. Is there a way to clean it, calibrate it? And where is it??

Thanks.

I don't believe that the Hemi has a throttle position sensor that can be replaced on its own. It is built into the TB. You may want to remove the TB since your Charger is over 100K, and give it a good, careful cleaning.
When I pulled the TB on my Hemi Durango at 90K, I was surprised at how much grease, gunk, etc, were in and behind the butterfly plate.
Do be careful to not get cleaning solution up and inside it. There are electronics that may be damaged.

Remember that with 100K plus on the odometer, you could easily have another 100K miles in idle time on it as well.

Since it's a throttle by wire system, it seems like there would be a pot or something at the pedal that talks to the throttle body or computer. But yes, I'll pull that tb off and clean it and see if that helps.
Thanks Don

Pulled off the throttle body and it was real clean all the way around, not much there as far as ports or little holes.

Removed the gas pedal, kind of a neat unit, easy to take out. I took it apart to see what I could see in there, expecting a potentiometer of some kind...but it was like a Hall effect kind of position sensor, that is magnetic, more reliable than a pot.

So put it back in, and calibrated the gas pedal per a video on Youtube. But still have the surging problem at part throttle. So I don't know if I just didn't do the calibrating correctly or if I need a new gas pedal assembly, or what. The beat goes on.
