Question Paddle Shifting Temporarily Unavailable

Hello, I was driving my 2017 dodge charger Rallye edition (3.6L V6) in manual mode with my paddle shifters and while trying to shift up a gear my car wouldn't let me and displayed the message, "paddle shifting temporarily unavailable". Not sure why it said it, I put it back to normal automatic and it was fine. Since this instance, I have had the issue multiple times. Any ideas why this happens? I usually will brake and then slide the shifter back into the Drive setting and its fine. Let me know your thoughts!

Take it to the dealer. It should be under warranty. Also, perhaps the owners manual may offer some insight.

Hi chargerrallye,

I understand that you are currently seeking advice from other forum members at this time, however, if you decide to take your Charger to the dealer, please feel free to send us a private message for an additional layer of assistance while in service.

how hot are you getting the trans? if it revs high for a long period the trans will protect itself.
+3 for having the dealer check it out.
