Dodge ChargerThe Dodge Charger. The car that made its competitors shiver in the 60's is reborn in 2006 into a sleek sedan that can still send the competition home wimpering, the Dodge Charger.
I have been having an issue with my car (2013 Dodge Charger SE 3.6L Flex Fuel car) that has got me boggled. It started a few weeks ago on a 150ish mile trip for work. Driving along at about 60MPH or so the car gave a P0344 cam positioning sensor error, tripped the traction control light, kicked me out of cruise control, and put me in limp mode. I got to the city I was heading to, stopped at an Autozone, and bought and installed a new sensor. I cleared the codes using my phone and Dash Command app, and drove around the city with no issue. On the trip home I had the same thing happen. I stopped, turned off the car, turned it back on, and the limp mode went away, but the check engine light stayed. It happened a couple more times on the way home, requiring me to "re-boot" the car. The next morning I went to the local dealership and purchased 2 OEM Mopar cam sensors and a OEM Mopar crank sensor. I installed them, cleared the codes and drove for a couple days before it happened again, this time also bringing P0369 to the party. For grins and giggles I tried replacing the VVT Actuators (also OEM Mopar parts) since it was happening at higher RPM on the highway. Still no luck. I am starting to thing I need to replace the Cam Phasers, but my brother brought over his Autel MaxiDas tablet and I was able to go a little deeper into the info that the code has with it. I wanted to post here before continuing to throw parts at it to see if someone with more experience could lend some guiding advice.
I have been doing a lot of reading on this issue, mostly finding info in Jeep forums with this motor, and this issue seems to be a particularly challenging one to get resolved, even for the dealerships. The below pictures (sorry for the large size) are from the Autel tablet that I was using to get the more in depth code information. There are 5 instances of the code in my system currently, and they all say about the same thing. This is a link to the video of me going through all the code instances.
From what I can tell there are two common lines in all the instances that show red, which I assume (yeah, I know what they say :-P I'm trying to learn this car) denotes what is tripping this code. Throttle Flow Multiplicative Adaptive shows in the negatives which is below allowed value and Throttle Inlet Voltage shows 320ish volts with is far out of allowed range of 20V max? When I Google "Throttle Flow Multiplicative Adaptive", Google only has two search results, and they are both just listing the term, not any actual information on what the term means or what part it correlates to. The "Throttle Inlet Voltage" from what I can tell goes to a Throttle Inlet Pressure Sensor, which this engine ( again from what I can tell) doesn't have.
Anyways, any information that anyone can give would be very greatly appreciated. This is a personal car, but I use it for work and rely heavily on it for those seemingly daily 150 mile one way trips.
