Anyone have any experience with these? i've heard good reviews and bad

Unless you're towing and running the engine at WOT, there's no advantage to using them. Yes, they will flow more air. However, your engine can only pull in a certain amount and it's less than the filter can allow. The stock paper filters work just fine.
