Thicks when engine is warm
Dodge charger 2011 5.7 with MDS
Had a cam failure, with one of the lobe worn down. Change the camshaft to mopar camshaft, and enigetech lifterts. After the rebuild the engine is ticking when it gets warm around 87C / 188F. Sound is most noticeable on driver side from the wheelhouse.
Concluded with poor lifters and changed all the lifters to Crown lifters. Soaked them before install. Still ticks when hot.
Second, I changed all the pushrods and also found 1 valve with a damage on the top. Like "pitting", same on rocker. Was sure I had found the problem and changed the valve and rockers for the exh valves on driver side. Still same ticking
Third, I changed the oil to Mobile Formula D1 5W-30. Still ticks.
Have ordered new MDS solenoids, But really don't know what to do now..
For information. The engine seems a little hot. went up to 99C when driving in town yesterday goes down to around 90 on main road. The waterpump is new. Have around 40-50km on the new lifters. Also changed the exhaust gasket on the noisy side. No sign of leak on the old one.
