Default Daytona Edition Proof?

Hi all...I'm fighting with Progressive Insurance. Their customer backed into my beautiful 2008 Dodge Charger R/T Daytona Edition and did some damage to the right rear quarter panel. Progressive wants to total the car (and presumably part it out).

They are asking me to prove it is a Daytona Edition to raise the value, but the VIN lookup only shows that it is an R/T. I don't have the original window sticker, but I do have the numbered plate in the freaking car. Does anyone know a way I can "prove" this without a window sticker and a pair of eyes that can clearly see the custom package?

I'm not sure how far back it goes, but you can try to get the window sticker from your VIN here, although oddly this lookup does NOT list my 2018 Charger Daytona 392 as a Daytona, so it may not work in your favor: https://www.mopar.com/en-us/my-vehicle/vin-lookup.html

The pedigree of this VIN decoder might be a bit more in question but it does decode my VIN as a Daytona 392, which it is: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/vindecoder.php

The Dodge link in this site also shows Daytona on the window sticker but says it only works for 2013 and newer: https://caredge.com/guides/get-the-original-window-sticker

And finally, have you checked with the dealership to see if they have a way to confirm?

Go here and pull a build sheet: https://fcagroup.my.site.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing
Enter the VIN in all caps. This will tell you definitively if it is an actual Daytona.

thanks...It looks like none of those were successful for 2008, but Magnoon's suggestion was!

This worked. I sent it on to the insurance company. It also works if you change the domain to dodge.com instead of jeep.com

Nice, I'll add his link to my bookmarks! I'm glad you were able to get what should be the proof you need!

What's funny about that is neither of those domain names are in that link and it seems to work just fine....seems to be operator error or network issue I guess:

Yeah...Someone built a front end for the query engine...it's a third party submitting to the Dodge/Jeep sites

Got a settlement from the insurance company...they fixed the damage and didn't total the car. I get it back in the morning!
