I 'am just trying to find out if a 06 Road & Track will take a C5 Corvette. The local dealer thinks i can do it as long as it is not a Z06.

that is not road and track. the road and track gives you extra HP and more race oriented car.

 

I have a 2005 C6 Z51 Auto. Bone stock except Corsa Sport exhaust. I ran a 12.8 in Mid july at the track. I absolutely love the new Charger..Looks wicked.However, my buddy at work has a 06 Charger and i beat him HANDILY in the 1/4..no contest. On the highway he can stay with me for awhile then its bye-bye. The C5 Z06 is even faster. Thats easily a low-mid 12 sec car stock. (check the forums) Some C6's are even hitting low 12's stock. No way can a charger r/t or srt8 take a c6 vette or let alone a c5 Z06 stock -stock. The C6 Z06 is even worse ..it runs 11's bone stock all day. I love the charger, but its just too damn heavy and has bad aerodynamics to beat the vette. Great otherwise.

 

Well i believe the question was will it beat a C5 non Z06...and the Charger R/T would get beaten by a Vette (would be a good race...but not enough), however, the SRT-8 would put up a hell of a fight against a stock C5, i mean stock C5 Vettes (not a Z06 or special) ran 13.3 and 0-60 times in 4.8-4.9 seconds...while the Charge SRT-8 runs low 13.4 with 0-60 in 4.9-5.0 seconds. So to say any Charger would have no chance at all against any Vette is a pretty dumb statement.

*C5 Corvette- 3,300LB and 345HP 5.7L LS1 V8 (13.3 1/4 @ 108mph)
Charger R/T- 4,000LB and 345HP 5.7L HEMI V8 (13.7 1/4 @ 101mph)
*Charger SRT-8 - 4,100LB and 425HP 6.1L HEMI V8 (13.4 1/4 @ 106mph)

where are you getting these charger times from? edmunds is saying 14.4 for the R/T and 14.3 with the extra 10 ponies for the Road and Track?????????????????????????/

if your times are right, what are the magnums getting? edmunds says around a 14.7 i believe (r/t)

 

Also, I believe that the HP rating in an R/T is 340, not 345.
