Default Leasing Question

Forgive me for sounding so stupid, but I have never been on the market for a new car before. I'm looking to lease a new Charger and I have a couple questions. Is the price of the vehicle when leasing set in stone, or can I try to haggle it down? The 5.7 Hemi is $540 a month and I'd love to be able to bring that down, otherwise I'll have to get the V6.

Joe, that seems kind of steep to me! I've never leased (I put too many miles on a car a year just driving to work), but I've never seen a lease price that high. I'm assuming this is for an R/T, and not a SRT-8. Even if it were for an SRT-8, I still think that's way too high.

Sorry I could really be of any help. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

A lease has several pitfalls you need to be aware of.......most have a limit on the number of miles you can put on the car before you have to pay a surcharge, almost all require you stay in the state you leased the car in, they will charge you for "excessive wear and tear" on the vehicle, you have to follow their maintenance program to the letter, and you have to put a chunk of money down when you sign the lease........and, unless you opt to buy the car for an inflated price at the end of the lease, you end up with no equity for all your payments......

Default RE: Leasing Question

There have not been alot of vehicles I've owned that I could say with certainty that they were keepers. The 68 Chevelle SS.. the 71 RoadRunner.. the 81 Turbo Lazer.. and the 06 Charger RT.. perhaps the Challenger will also be one.

This Charger RT or Daytona RT is definately not something you want to fritter away on lease payments, that is unless you tend to drive very few miles, and ultimately intend on purchasing.

Understand.. this vehicle is european road craft at its finest. To date, and in this price range it has the best suspension, electronics and from what I am seeing in the 6 months I've owned mine, great general craftsmanship. Its in fact an Americanized Mercedes.

Lease a toyota.. own a Charger
