Default Scratches......HELP!

My wife took the R/T to a car wash the other day and the next day I found a bunch of scratches. It looks both like they were scratching off Bird Sh*******t and they used some type of brush. The good thing is the scratches are not deep at all but since my R/T is black you notice everything Is there any product out there that I can get to help get rid of the scratches? I've found a passion for cars when I bought my baby and have spent mad loot to upgrade it and now I have to deal with these stinky scratches!!!!!!

Thank you in advance for the help

There are clearcoat scratch removers - put it on like you would a paste wax. If you have one of those buffing/waxing machines, they work best. It's been a long time since I used any - it may have been Turtle Wax clearcoat scratch remover.

I feel your pain, buddy. Good luck. Oh, by the way, I do take mine occassionally to a "professional" car wash, but I make sure the ones I take it to don't use those swirling brushes that the car is pulled through on the little trolley.

Meguiar's Scratch-X is awesome for hiding those nasty scratch marks. I also have a black Charger, and I find new scratches everytime I take her to get washed. lol

first week I had my baby I scratched the finish (black) with my thumbnail.

I was giving it it's weekly wash and scratched off a leaf or something from the trunklid. Left huge scratches in it.

Since I had to clear coat the trunk anyway I ran it over to the PPG training center and had them fix it up.

I've already got swirl marks too.

Not very impressed with the factory finish... looks pretty, but durable it ain't

I recognized quickly that the factory finish wasn't going to get the job done.. specially going into winter when I wanted protection from road solvents and the like.. Everyone has a favorite product.. product line and view on how often is often enough to refinish your exterior.. this is mine.

Early on I started with the Pinnacle Souveran clear sealant. I was real impressed with the bonding effect, when a month later while claying the unit it was really fairly well sealed still. I've spent as much as 2 hours claying a unit and with the Pinnacle it was more like 30-45 minutes all total.

Once I had two good coats my Daytona is topcoated with the S100. The canouba is exceptionally dense and as much as I hate to remove a concentrated canouba.. its worth it for protection and that final eye popping finish.

Swirls are pretty easy to take care of with regular refinishing or sealing.. if you've got a moderate scratch, Mequiars Scratch-X is about as course a material as you need. (remember when you repair scratches.. mostly what you are doing is smoothing the edges of the etched surface). For deeper scratches.. my advise is to let the pros do it.. its your finish.. and their liability if they mess it up.

One more word on Claying your unit. Though a relatively new process, claying has proven to me to be exceptional way to keep deep scratches and oxidation from developing in your finish.. while manintain an eye popping clearcoat- show room shine. Just remember to buy a premium clay and keep lots of lubricant under your clay. For those that haven't tried it.. do it once and see what your finish looks like after the topcoat is buffed out by your Microfiber disk.. You're not going to resent the extra work again.

Just my opinions guys.. Keep'm Pretty !

I have a black Charger R/T and I have been fortunate with swirl marks. I hardly drive it in the winter b/c I have another car to drive and when I do I use a touchless. When I dry it I use microfiber towels and have hardly any swirls.

So did you use the Pinnacle Souveran 1st? And what did you mean by claying the unit. Just interested in the products you used and how you do it if you could let me know......
