Rental 06 Charger
My friend works for Enterprise and the privately owned franchises can buy or order whatever they want production wise. Rode in aq 300C Hemi as a taxicab. tried to bribe the drive into letting me drive but no luck. Had to buy my top bananner to play with one..[sm=massbounce.gif]
Just got back from visiting my daughter and grand kids in Ft. Myers, Florida. I rented an SXT with the 3.5 High Output V-6. Not a bad little car. Of course, I'm used to my R/T with its mods, but at sea level, that little 3.5 runs pretty darned well!

190 hp isnt to shabby considering the motor size. A 99-04 Mustang sporting a 3.8 churned 190 hp. The 250 hp 3.5 liter, you have to consider 91 Mustang GTs had about the same with a 5.0 V8!
Gotta love technology.

If only US rentals have the 2.7L engine, you should start seeing them at CarMax and at dealers (maybe even some program cars) in about 6 months with around 15K - 20K miles - probably hard miles from the abuse it appears this crowd has already given them.

A 2.7L in a Charger is a bit anemic IMO. If you aren't looking for performance and just want the looks of the body style and the fuel economy then I'd say go for it. However, if you need more performance then at minimum go with the 3.5L
From what I've heard DC will offer the 2.7L option in 2007 (other than fleet cars)

I rented a 2.7l in Florida last November.
The engine is okay for cruising around town, but it had to work kind of hard on the highway to get the job done. I also found the brakes a little squishy and the steering drifty.
Are other Chargers like that?
I loved the size of the car (2 kids here) and the look. The trunk was huge, and I loved the look of the car in Blue.
I'm going to try the 3.5l, and I'm going to try and resist the 5.7l!!!!!!!!
If you want the full scoop on the 2.7l go to www.dodge.ca.

there is a used 2.7L sitting at a chevy dealer (was there because i thought they had a used srt-8, but it turned out to be a rt with a srt8 hood), i think it had 12k miles on it and they wanted 18,000 for it, but i could be wrong.
