Default hargerInstalling amp and woofers

Hi Everybody...Female Dodge Charger R/T Daytona owner here...Bought it yesterday.Has anyone installed an amplifier and Woofers yet? I dropped my 2- 10's and amplifer in the trunk this afternoon. I picked the speaker signal from the rear speaker wires and used a patch cord that goes from a set of speaker wires to the rca cables.(they came from a stereo shop) I got my power and ground from the battery in the trunk. I could not find anywhere good to get my remote wire. I found the satellite control box (i think) in the fender well on the drivers side in the trunk. I went ahead and tied into the power at the battery for the remote just to see if everything worked ok. The woofers had a high thump/whine in it when i hooked it up. Do you all think that was because the speakers i tapped into were already hooked up to an amplifier (the car came with Boston accostic speakers and a 275 watt amp.) i could not find where the amp was mounted. Any ideas on the following problems:

1. Thump in woofers without music on them
2. Where can I get a remote wire from?
If the back of the stereo is the only way then how do I take the front panel off the stereo and a/c controls?
(i pulled on the yellow cover for a couple of times and I could not see how to get the front panel off the expose the Nav/stereo hold in screw.)
3. Is there a problem with hooking to the rear speakers? ( already amplified) If so where can I get my signal from to run the woofers?
4. Do i need a crossover or will the speaker wire to rca cable spliced wire I have be ok?

Thanks in advance for the help. I dont know a lot of stereo installation but I can follow instructions. I can work on electrical stuff.

Default RE: hargerInstalling amp and woofers

Hello, welcome to the club. I own a Go ManGo, and havent considered installing anything additional on my already nice sounding system. This is the first car I havent wanted to (or already have) mod the system.

I would have to say though, that using already amplified speaker sygnals for your inputs is not the way to go. I consider this might be your problem with the "popping" and "humming". The module patch cord might have gains for each input, in which you can adjust down because your amp doesnt want beefed sygnals coming through its RCA inputs.
As for where to get a wire, I cant help you there because I personally havent gotten into checking that stuff out...yet. You might consider a fuse for accessories or something that comes on with the key though.

I got it...I hooked up a step down to it. an it works great. No problems. I tapped into the bundle of wires coming off the battery to pick up my remote wire. I hooked up the amp to the rear speakers in the package tray. Had no problems.

I am by no means a pro but now I do know the tricks with this baby. I have an extra JL Audio 300/2 amp. I bought it new for my 300M last year. Its probably 6 months old. I am not going to hook this one up to the factory speakers. If anybody needs a 2 channel amp, I've got one. The price new is $415 so I'll sell it for $300. These things depreciate worse than vehicles.

Default what wire did you use?

What color wire did you tap into in the truck for a remote? I wanted to hook up an amp and sub in my wife's charger but was considering how I was going to go about it. I had hoped that the car came wired up for the factory sub even if it wasn't installed but i don't know where to look for those wires (and it would suck to look for something that isn't there.)
