charger vs magnum
im going to buy a used magnum or charger? which should i go with? i love the uniqueness of the magnum and the space it has but the charger seems like it might be more fun to drive since its faster, smaller, and gets slightly better mileage. what made you guys go with the charger?
I just love the lines on the Charger.... and couldn't resist the Daytona package....
Plus I didn't need a stationwagon, my wife has a Grand Caravan if we need the extra space.
Everyone has there own reason for getting one or the other. I suggest getting the one that you like best. That's what I did and I am really happy with the Top Banana.

I had an '05 Magnum R/T I bought new in August of '04. I traded it in this past April for an '06 Charger Daytona. I drove the magnum for 29K miles and loved every minute of it. I had the full Nav/GPS, MP3, 6 CD changer, leather interior, sun roof, dual zone AC and heat, etc. package and got the same on my Daytona. The Daytona and the Magnum are identical in performance (mileage, accleration, handling, etc.) and they should be because they are basically the same LX chassis. As far as size goes the Charger is not smaller than the Magnum. They are both approximately the same weight, length and wheelbase and there's about maybe an inch or so difference in wheel track width.
The Magnum, however, has more back seat room and cargo space. So it comes down to what you need the car for and what look you prefer. It also has to do with what sort of modding you want to do to the car. IMO the Magnum offers more to the modder for creative style (paint job, interiors, sound systems, etc.) You can make a great show car form a Magnum (if that's your thing). If you are looking for muscle car inspired styling then go with a Charger.
I can tell you I got a LOT or comments (all positive) on my Magnum. Perhaps it was the newness and uniqueness of the vehicle but everyone that made comments to me had nothing but positives. The Charger gets comments too but more from a performance aspect such as "Dude, that's a fast car! Has it got a Hemi?" When they see a Charger Daytona they immediately think muscle car and speed. The Magnum is more of a sleeper in that respect. When you pull up on a light in the Magnum the other guy next to you will think "hey, it's a wagon and I'll toast him" but they will be wrong
Sine I have a Caravan and a Ram Daytona there was no need for the Magnum to haul stuff around in plus when I saw a TB Daytona Charger I knew I had to have it!
Either way you go you'll be happy with the performance.
good luck with your decision.

To be honesty, its a draw for me. I like both. But if I had to pick..............Charger.

The Magies have a look beyond stations wagon, their nice rides. With all the various speaker mounting points acoustically they blow away the Chargers and 300s. Also due to the Magies being part of the LX brotherhood they get my nod.

with a HEMI....
