Default Bling Bling...

I worked on the banana today and added some Bling Bling...I had purchased a Jada brand minature Top Banana Dodge off ebay and it had the front and rear brake shoes painted Red. I had thought about doing this but was unsure cause there is not alot of red on the vehicle but the more I looked at the toy car the more I thought there is enough red..The tail lights and the R/T badge are enough. So this was my venture for the weekend. Only down side is the style red I chose was (gasp)..[:@] FORD RED..Only red with High heat capabalities... I took my time on each wheel and taped everything up real good so as to not have overspray...IT LOOKS GOOD! Here are some pics...

Sorry I didnt post the pics in the message but they were too large..Putfile was easier.

Zing....Zing

Damn GF where your from? If you got a man I'm sure he's one happy one. I'm teaching my GF a few tricks but you've got her beat by a long shot LOL

Red, even Ford red, is a good caliper color for your TB, it looks great. When you change the brake pads take the time to re-spray the calipers while their off.

Yeah i got an old man...My POPS taught me everything about cars..He always said if your going to own a car your going to know how to work on it yourself and save money in the long run. Thanx for the tip about repainting calipers when they are off. I really wanted to take them off the vehicle and paint them apart but my Dad said for the first time just spray them while they are on. No need in tearing into the brakes when you dont need to..I was pleasantly pleased with the looks of the job. I appreciate everyones input from the forum.

Hey Dodgegirl67,
Im putting on SRT 8 wheels and I like what you did to your ride. I have the same thing. What did you do to prep the calipers for painting?

Thanks,
Jason

FYI - Duplicolor makes paint for brake calipers. Comes in red, blue, silver, and black. Worth checking out.

chargin 69...Sorry I just now responded to your email. I had a little minor surgery last week and just now getting back into the groove of things. I sprayed them down with some mean green to get all the dust and grease off them and then I took some steel wool after them to rough them up to give the paint something to stick to. I had driven the car about 20 minutes earlier so the brakes were still a little warm. I did this because with the high heat red I chose I kind of wanted it to "bake" on or at least dry faster so I can go to the next wheel. I taped everything off around it real good. When I finished with that wheel, i rolled the car forward a bit to use the steel wool to remove any excess paint on the caliper. I hope this helps. A week later and they are still holding up great.

That looks sweeeet. Inexpensive touches like this makes cars looks the dinglies

My wife likes to talk about engine management, turbos, exhausts, bhp, torque etc. and used to help me with my car, so I understand how your man feels to have his other half into cars like you

What's that old saying? God (or is it the devil) is in the details. It's those little touches that show we care. Nicely done.
