The LX chassis already supports AWD....
Found the poop on LY from Alpar, see below. Remember these are “various rumors” yet to be announced.
If they put the Charger on a diet and come in at (-400lbs) 3600 curb weight that alone is a vast improvement and yes some options will vary that number. I agree there are AWD LXs already, but I believe they will also be producing a AWD 5.7 which isn't in the LX lineup at this point.

The LY cars will be an interesting blend; while the LX were heavily influenced by Mercedes' E-Class design, Chrysler should have more latitude in building the LY. That may result in wider variation of models (given Chrysler's increasingly flexible factories), lower weight and cost, and, perhaps, more friendly interiors.
The one LY car that has garnered the most attention so far is the beautiful Dodge Challenger, which has a separate page at Allpar. This page will keep up to date on various rumors around the entire LY series.
The Imperial is one vehicle that is continually rumored but its status is unknown. More than a stretched 300C - Accubuilt is making a stretch 300C for the limo market, but it's not what we're talking about - the Imperial should compete favorably against a Mercedes costing $10,000 more, but be built in relatively limited quantities (and with higher quality). The Imperial marque has in the past included some of the best cars available at the time, with the highest quality materials.
“Dodgeguy1961” reported the following engine list for the LY series. Note that there is currently no 3.0 liter engine made by Chrysler, though Mitsubishi has one; it's unlikely that Chrysler would use a Mitsubishi engine at this time. Perhaps the 3.0 is a bored-out or stroked 2.7; or maybe it's an upcoming VW or Mercedes engine; or perhaps it's a diesel, but just isn't marked that way. The 4.0 is a known entity. The Hemi with variable valve technology is a new one, but not surprising given the World Engine's recent debut of Mercedes valve systems on an engine used by Chrysler.
This list includes engines which might be used solely in Europe.
2.7 liter DOHC V6
3.0 liter "V6 Base" — according to “carldfor,” most likely a destroked 3.3/3.8, mainly for the Chinese market where there is a significant tax for engines over 3.0L. Prototypes are currently being constructed by DCX.
3.0 liter turbodiesel V6
3.5 liter high-output 24-valve V6 (currently at about 250 hp)
4.0 liter base V6
5.7 liter Hemi MDS
5.7 liter Hemi VVT (variable valve technology)
6.1 liter Hemi
