The carrie size?? The SXT comes with 2.87:1 gears standard.

 

SXT, I had a carrier in my old 1971 Dana 60 rear end, but in the new ones I don't know if they have one. They used different carriers depending on the different gears -- I didn't have to change carriers when I went from 4.56 gears to 3.54 gears, but you'll have to check with Mopar to see what you need.

Also, be careful changing gears you'll need to change speedometer calibrations.

Is there another "HAL type" computer on the Trans, related but not the same as HAL?

<edit> Reason for asking is if there is another "smart" device controlling the trans it would be severely confused by a gear change.

 

According to the info in my DC Service manual for my 300m, mopar combined the two controllers into one Powertrain controller in 2002. I would think that you should be able to adjust for the different ratio by fudging the tire sizes.
