Chargin, if it had to do with a partial modification of the driver's side radiator air dam, it was me. Check above under the V8 specific posts and see the post called "cooler air to the CAI". It is a fresh post with a small photo.

I just got back from the high pressure car wash and rinsed off several bugs -- when I got home, four blocks away, opened the hood, and the CAI was bone dry. So what I'm saying here is my modification didn't even allow the pressure washer at the car wash to get it wet... I had the nozzle not far from the plastic honeycomb and was trying to clean off the window screen I installed just behind the grill. Got the bugs off, and didn't get the CAI wet.

Great Thanks!! I just removed the plastic air dam. Found a different way to do it though. Did you put something back in?

I didn't remove the dam. I modified it. I opened up the top about 3" but left the entire dam intact. I wanted as much air going to the radiator as possible after the mod. The upper air finds its way to the air intake, then most of the lower air slams into the radiator as designed.

Other than removing the entire dam, what mod did you do different?

Did you put screening behind the grill to protect the radiators?

No mods other than removing the dam. I took the entire dam out. I haven't noticed any difference in temp. I don't really think it will affect the the radiator. Not a bad idea about the netting to protect the rad. Oh ya, did you stack the Jet Chip and SC?? Im thinking of doing that.

No, not me stacking the chip and programmer. I just have the Jet 2 chip and run a 14.04 in the quarter and get 25 MPG at 75 MPH. If you do, let us know about the speed numbers. This would be interesting...
