Default 5.7 - Need some good suggestions

I have an '06 Charger R/T. What I am looking for us as many suggestions as I can find about how to get more horsepower from my car. Most of the projects I'm willing to undertake would have to be $250 or less, and maybe a few $500 or less.

I don't know much about anything, but I know there is power waiting to be unleashed. How can I get my ride running faster than the other cars in my town? Is that too much to ask? hehe

Thanks for any help.

First of all, welcome Mark. You'll get a lot of good feedback from folks on the form, enjoy.

Don't know where you live but come to grips w/it, someone will always have a faster car. A Benz had fun w/me one morning on the way to work. I soon found out, after it passed me, it was an AMG model w/500+ HP to the ground, gezzzz some people! Be proud of what you have and make friends w/those that rival you. You can always help, learn and share common information with them.

HP mods…

SuperChips Flashpaq - $350 – 360
Headers – Co$t depends (short/long tube and coating if any)
CAM – $350+ (depends somewhat upon CAM and most of all who installs it)
Exhaust mod/CatBack - $hop around
Cold Air Intake - $150+

Take your time and do your homework. Plan the evolution of you car over time as you get the funds.

You got some good advice there Mark,

Best I will give ya.. first cut out the suitcase muffler under the driver's seat.. Then don't let anyone talk you into buying anything else for exhaust.. Buy a K&N Series 63 cold air intake.. and finally a SuperChips FlashPaq.. With your budget this should keep the smile on your face.. and make your stock unit perform as well as it can without spending thousands.

Good Luck Pal... and enjoy.

For about 4 months.. I didn't replace the suitcase with anything... Just ran the straight pipes out to the tail mufflers.. and enjoyed the sound.. Hind sight being what it is.. I might choose to save my $850.

It was research that made me believe that the Borla 125 would be a great option.. turned out to be a good choice.. great sound.. modest performance gain.. and its a good look with those 5 inch *****.
