I tuned mine for 91 and am running 87 with octane boost. Not a sound other than squeeling tires and whip lash!!
I found an SC for half price on Ebay. In KC 91 is 25 to 30 cents higher than 87. I bought a case of pyroil octane boost for $15. If you take the average of the price difference, which would be 27.5 cents, and figure you put 18 gallons of 87 in per fill up, that would be a savings of $4.95 per tank. A case has 12 cans that treat 20 gallons per can. Thats $59.40 per case of money saved vs. 91 octane. Subtract the $15 for the cost of octane boost, that is a savings of $44.40 per case (give or take a few cents). That could be at least one or two car payments depending on how much you drive through out a year. Possibly more!!

Dave B,
Sorry for my delay in answering.
I enjoy the Jet 2 chip. I get 25+ MPG at 75 MPH and can run the quarter mile in 14.07 seconds. What's not to like?!
The Jet 2 chip was much less costlier than the SuperChips programmer, and I still feel the programming isn't worth the $500 price tag. My son has his ZO6 Corvette reprogrammed for $400 and was after that +16.7 rear wheel HP, better throttle, and ran cooler. To me that was worth it. I haven't read that SC is all what it's cracked up to be. I'm sure someday...
I have a Daytona model, and run a K&N CAI and always put in 92 octane fuel. No knocks, pings, or fuel system cylinder drying additives...

I do not want to be bias here but I recommend making a search on the Lx forums about stacking of the two. You will be able to see the results for your self.
Or you could pull the J chip and do a 0-60 with the Sc only and then do another run with the J+Sc and then do a run with no Sc and the J-chip only.

I do not want to say "IMO" about anything on this subject. But if you have any questions about the facts about the SC that is why I am here.

I have not tested these products with our tuning. I have not read any long term studys on this subject. But there are some testing that people have done on other sites just the way I have discribed above.
We have not tested this product to tell you if there is any adverse effects with our tuning.
So I can not answer these question with any experiance.

Ron,
I wasn't sure if you were posting to me, but I think when guys post this or that, they need to prove not just say. When Chargin69 stacked the two chips, maybe he's on to something, but I like to see facts. If he gets 30 MPG and gets quarter times of 13.5, I'm a believer. If he gets .10 faster than my Jet 2, I'm not going to be buying a programmer for $550. I believe posters should be careful what they say, especially for those who read this stuff and believe everything they read... I have read ALOT of heresay and BS and some of us old guys just try to steer the wonderers in the right direction! But, also, I have learned from some of those guys too.
As far as Chargin69 trying this he just might be the guy to get it right.

We do not warrentee stacking products with our products.
It is your vehicle, you will do what you want with what you want.
But if there is a issue with the computer or drivability we can not help you with the issue.

69,
Our gasoline here in Minnesota doesn't require the expensive additives that some big cities require, sometimes called reformulated gasoline, so our fuel is cheaper. At my local station, the 87 and 89 are the same at $2.99, where the 91 or 92 is $3.03 -- so for me, buying premium is not an issue -- there is no need to put in octane boosters.

Ron,
Welcome to the forum.
I have a Daytona model and, as mentioned, I use a Jet 2 chip. I never even heard about the SuperChips until I joined the forum. I did post several weeks ago, which one was better -- the lowly chip or the expensive programmer. I would certainly buy your SC programmer, however, I have seen where there are issues with it. I feel for the $550 that it is A LOT of money for what you get. Some guys complain it not holding in their ECUs, some say it doesn't work "like it should" and, there seems to be performance issues, so for me, is your programmer going to give me twice the performance of a Jet 2 chip (being twice the price)? I am sure you are under construction with it, and maybe someday it will be the cat's meow, but to me, it is very expensive for about the same performance boost as the Jet 2 chip -- at least, no one, has posted for me actual times between the two showing me a huge performance gain over the chip.
Maybe you need to do some levels. I mean, if you do this (programmer) you get "X" amount of speed/performance/MPG. If you do this (programmer, headers) you get "X". If you do this step (programmer, headers, exhaust) you get "X". And so on and so on.
I didn't intend to rant here, and I mean no ill will. But if you could post track times in the low 13s and still get 28 MPG, get neck snapping shifts, and no fall off in the gears -- now I'm MUCH more interested and inclined about spending $550.

I did not come in to pose a debate about which is better.
But we do not warrentee stacking products with ours.
I have asked you guys to research the combo of the 2 before their is a problem.
We have not tested them together nor will we.
Stay Tuned!!!
