Dodge Charger The Dodge Charger. The car that made its competitors shiver in the 60's is reborn in 2006 into a sleek sedan that can still send the competition home wimpering, the Dodge Charger.

Actually, the manual states that 5W-20 is the correct oil to use to keep from fouling up the MDS. I had to order it online since the local stores didn't carry it until just recently. It also improves fuel mileage slightly.

Marty,

If you are asking me, I am not. My two sons use it religiously, but I use the standard Mopar 5-20 blend. Good enough for me, since I don't race or over rev the engine. Oh, I have thought about using it in the cold MN winters, but I have no plans to drive my car during the winter -- it'll just sit in a heated garage anyway.

If I was going to use a full synthetic, I would probably use Royal Purple however.

Nicky,

I believe the answer is a resounding NO.

Little things... but often those come from operator error.

The cars are great...

Good thats what I want to hear I only plan on having the car for about 3 years or so and then getting either a 06 Ram SRT-10 QC, 06-07 Charger SRT-8, or a 07 Mustang GT500 for under $1200 a shop got one to be producing 560HP on a dyno and ran a 11.7 in 1/4mile.

I have been noticing something that might be a problem. In the morning when its like 60 degrees the car takes abit to start, giving it alittle gas helps alittle but its not really good to rev the engine when its cold I was told. Does anyone know the problem or what I can do?

Nicky,

My car sits in a garage so I really don't know about starting problems -- it starts fine everytime. I would be very careful in force-feeding (giving it a little gas) to start a fuel injected engine. You should be able to just turn the key. You are right, it is not good to over rev the engine when you first start them -- but all that is computer controlled. Again, you should be able to just turn the key and let the normal starting sequence go through the motions.

If you are having problems starting, I would bring it to the dealer. There are a hundred things that it could be -- they can plug in and see if something shows up. Since it's under warranty, I would have them check it -- don't goof around trying things .

We've had a couple of high 40 degree mornings (I'm still cleaning out my garage) and my car started with no problems. Read the manual and follow the instructions for cold starts. Definitely don't drive the dickens out of it until it warms up. This allows the oil to come up to temp an flow better and the metal parts to expand with heat to their normal operating tolerances. How would you like to have to run a 100 yard dash right out of bed[:@]. Along the same line, don't lug the engine either, although this isn't as much of an issue with automatics.
