Default HID conversion kit

Hi there
I'm a new member and owner of a dodge charger SXT, I was driving an ML350 for 4 years and I got used to the xenon lights.. and honestly and shocked that the charger doesnt have xenon lights!!

My question is, the low beam bulb model for the charger is 9006xs
I only found conversion kits with 9006 only

will the 9006 bulb fit on my car's socket?! or when they convert to HID they will change the whole socket?!

Thank you guys

It is unlikely that you can change to a true HID bulb without adding a ballast and ignitor. The parts for the upgrade should cost $300-$900 depending on type. Just replacing a buld with another bulb will never be an HID system, although it may have a somewhat similar appearance.

In addition to mechanically fitting the device, you will need to insure that it does not fry HAL's (engine computer) brain. The HID modules are capable of producing tremendous power transients. It is fairly easy to build a cheap one, but one that does not fry your cars electronics, may cost a little more. Keep in mind that the computer is about 10 inches behind the headlights.

I do agree that HID headlights work great. My wife has them on her Infiniti, and they do make me jealous. There is a reason that BMW and Porsche charge $1500-$2500 for the HID option. Keeping everything properly shielded is expensive.

IXLR8,

Computer location? 10" ?

In my Daytona it is almost 30" behind the passenger side headlights -- under the windshield in the cowling.
