New CAI installed
Yippeee... I got the new CAI installed yesterday and did the modification to allow more air in through air dam in front of radiator...I did it right too...Didnt pull any fuses. Ha[:@]...I put the car back to stock setting with SC, disconnected the battery and installed the Mopar CAI. EASY to do...Didn't quite follow the reason for the hose coupling from original air intake. Its a small piece of hose that connects to the new CAI tube and you install the coupling to attach the old hose to. The original hose is EXTREMELY long enough to use. Oh well. I followed the directions and used it. Very simple modification that made a huge difference. Looks great too. Now the mod to the shroud in front of the radiator is a bit more difficult. ALot of work to cut only a small part out. Completed it after an hour and a half. The CAI change took less than 30 minutes. That includes putting the vehicle back to stock and reprogram back to performance setting after install.. [8D].. Great mods though. I think it juiced it up a bit. Jules
It is a sweet mod and the Mopar CIA looks stock, it really makes the car.
What did you do w/ the mopar sticker that comes w/ the CIA? I stuck mine on the radiator shroud w/ the other factory stickers looks stock.

Dodgegirl,
Atta girl.
When I installed my K&N, there were two hook ups. I just shorted the smaller hose to the engine and didn't use the stock one -- if I ever want to return the car to the stock air intake, I can. The other was just the air temp sensor in the big air tube.
Yes, the air dam cut is a chore. But I have had good luck with it keeping the air filter area cooler than the air tube -- and it doesn't get wet. I have heard from others they just remove the complete air dam, but when it is hot (those southern states) personally, I think the more air ramming into the radiator the better, so the small cut isn't robbing the radiator air much. Well, in theory anyway!
PS = Now, take it to the track some time a run it. Come on now, don't tell me you don't have nerve -- you were a policewoman after all. Look at the vehicles you drive... no nerve? When you are at the track lights, just pretend you are responding to a 911 call -- 15 seconds later, you are there... see? (This won't take long - did it?) LOL. Plus you don't have to worry about cross traffic or pedestrians! Just go out and have fun.
By the way, thanks much for the comment on the other post. I didn't mean to ignore you, I just didn't know what to say after that!

The Mopar sticker was already on the CAI tube. Yes the mod made a huge difference I thought.
I know I shouldnt be scared of taking it to the 1/4 mile track and running it. Yes I have been in a few chases in my police career and got away with the speeding a bit off duty and I really shouldnt be scared to take it to the track. Just a perfectionist and dont want to screw up. I already have the bug for speed. I have been on an oval track and run a Busch car in Memphis with only a 15 minute training course on which line to take and how to keep up with the pace car. I was scared shi*less doing that. Had a blast though. Wish i knew what speed I got up to but of course they didnt have a monitor on the track and I never took the time to look down at the rpm I was running.
