Default 2007 charger wheels

Hey every 1 i have a question on the 07 charger. the new daytona and road track packages sound great especially with 20 inch chrome wheels but how much do u think that will slow down the charger in terms of 0 to 60 and quarter mile times compared to the 18 inch rims it comes on the 06. thanks im just trying to make a descion on what to go for.

I have no actual data myself. However in just thinking about it, a 20" wheel and an 18" wheel could have the same tire height, resulting in no difference as far as total tire height and the speedometer, transmission, and rear gears would act similar to the difference in wheels. However, unsprung weight, the great deceiver in this equation, could raise it's ugly head here. The heavier the wheel, (like many cheap 20-22 inch varieties), cause havoc with axles, bearings, braking, and getting those masses up to speed. Light and strong = MONEY. I have seen many hot rods and muscle cars using wider tires and taller wheels, but usually horsepower makes up any difference. Also, be aware, that the 20" SRT8 wheel, although 20" x 9" is taller and wider than my shorter 18"x 7.5" Daytona wheel, but is only 1/2" wider on tire footprint. So you are not gaining much in performance.

Having said all this, as far as real track times and speed, I would think it would be about the same --but frankly, I have no real idea.
