Default DIY Oil drain plug (Fumoto)

Hi,
Just thought I'd share this little invention: it is an oil drain plug that you don't need to unscrew in order to drain the oil pan. The one that fits our cars is Style #F-106. I've used these on my BMW and Fords. Works well enough.

Yes these are nice especially when you use Amsoil so you can take samples to send.

NiceRT,

Welcome to the forum.

Gee, I didn't know they still were selling that stuff (Amsoil). Are they still using toilet paper oil filters? I know years ago they were the talk of the town, but their oil was very costly and they used a toilet paper roll as their replaceable cartridges. [&:]

Those were the days when Arco had graphite in their oil. Now, THAT was good stuff -- except it was almost black when it was new, and your oil looked like it already had 25,000 miles on it.

Seriously, I haven't seen Amsoil in years: I remember them being very expensive and touting you could go, I don't exactly remember, but like, 15,000 miles before oil changes, you just changed the filter and added a quart... something like that... THAT was why you had to send in samples because it was in your car's engine for so long...

Also, the idea of sending in samples is ludicrous. Just changing oil and filter in 3,000 miles and get those contaiminates OUT is the reason, I believe, Amsoil died out around here...

Everyone that changes their own oil should get one.

F-106 N(w/Nipple) is the one to get. Put a hose on it (I cap mine off after use and tuck it up by the Cross member), and drain right into your waste container… no fuss, no muss!
