New to mopar land and just put money down on new charger. Dealer tells me he dont know what color it will be untill next week. He claims the SRT might be top bann. AKA new name as super bee... also the ordered new rt daytonas. He said first come, and what ever comes in. My questions to you wrench heads I've been reading your posting for a month. Some guys with daytonas claim to dump 5 or more grand to get that 425 horse power like an SRT. woodet been cheaper to start with an srt?. My STEALER claims new daytonas are going to have a few more ponies under the hood. Why not just spend7 grand on a crate motor save the factory so you have matching numbers .Also has any of you guys thought about the computer in the police package charger. automoblie mag this month was running ad's by dodge comparing cop cars and the charger was the only one to cruse at 150 MPH. IT somked the doors off the RPO impala LTZ and crown vic.

Some have done just what you said, put 5 or so Gs to get their HP up. I'm going to do what I can but retain MDS. I like performance but I also like MPG

Recent threads have discussed the computer differences between the Police Charger and the "normal" Charger. It seems Mopar is coming out with a "performance" PCM which may be what they put in the Police Charger.

 

Have we seen anything that references the gearing on the Police model? Generally cop cars are geared for high fuel efficiency. This can also aid top end speed. Certainly it would help the Charger with the current HP available "cruise at 150."

 

Well lets see, after you subtract the $2500 Gas Guzzler tax that SRT owners have to pay, it would only be $2500.

 

MY DEALER HAS HAD 07 CHARGERS ON THERE LOT FOR A MONTH NOW. BUT I AM IN WISCONSIN LIVE 4 BLOCKS FROM THE PLANT=). YES THERE IS A NEW YELLOW SRT SUPERBEE. HAVE NOT SEEN ONE AT THE DEALER YET BUT THEY ARE ON EBAY FOR SALE ALREADY. CHECK THEM OUT SWEET BUT I THINK THEY ONLY MADE 500 OF THEM. THEY SHOULD OF BEEN MORE THEN 425HP LIKE THE REG. SRTS. FOR THE ALMOST $50,000 STICKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

well i think ill try and put it like this ,yes you do get the extra hp in the srt8,but the car to be honest looks like any other car out there .now the daytonas dont there flashy bright loud and attract attention giving you what i call "the look at me syndrome" so for a few grand you get the best of both worlds.besides lets face if any of us had the srt8 we would still modify them .
