Got My tires smokiiiinnnn!!!!! Today
Ok so my freind that i havent seen in a while came over and hes driving a car that he just got(2000 Trans AM non ws6 with a chip and exaust). He took me for a ride and his esp can be turned all the way off it burned out strait through 1st and 2nd impressed.I would say 0-40 is better then our chargers but after that it seems to be real close??Anyways we come back and i say lets go for a ride I warn him that in the charger you cant turn the esp all the way off.I pull out on 100% dry pavement stop press the esp button then just floor it the tires start squeling.[sm=gears.gif]I slowly start moving at maybe 5Mph-10MPH the car starts to drift to one side i counter steer back and forth to keep the car straight. After i would say 60-70Ft Hal hade enough and kicked in some esp.He was impressed and so was i,I didnt let it show tho LOL.
Anyways we go back to my house and where the burnout took place and i asked what my other friend that was watching what he thaut(the MOPAR Master Tech) and said He has yet to see a charger smoke the tires like i just did.My reaction was Smoked they actaully started Smokeing and he half laughs and impressively replyed YA.[sm=jawdrop.gif]
And remember MOPAR or NOCAR

AS a NEW BOOT I can smoke my tires with the esp on or off. First with it off (LIGHT ON DASH LIT ) I held the break and rev it to 1500 rpm let the break go and smashed it it will smoke and squell and kick side ways. with esp it will smoke then the *** end chatters and just spins for a few seconds
I tried to "Power Brake" my Charger only one time, the chassis looked like it was under a tremendous strain. It felt like the car was bending, so I don't do it any more.
So what you are saying is that you are applying 300 ft/lbs (approx torque at 1500 rpm) of torque to your brakes? Do you have any idea the amount of strain that is putting on your drivetrain components, having to dissapate 300 ft/lbs? That is a huge amount of energy for your torque converter to slip, I will bet that you are almost vaporizing the automatic transmission fluid. Remember if you are developing the power, it has to go somewhere....
I think a burnout is very cool to watch, However in order to do it in a Charger you have to defeat 30+ years of technology specifically designed to keep you from 'burning out'. Smoking the tires is easy, keeping from smoking the tires is a heck of alot harder. You will never get your 13 sec ET with smoke coming off of your tires. Sounds like yoiu want your cake and eat it too....

Since I hit 3000 miles on my car I can smoke em up and get a little drift w/ the ESP off.
I have to admit I wish I could have more but tires are expesive so no complaints.
Also the traction control is excellent in the rain.
