See the following thread

Thermostats

I run the NAPA 180 degree part # 191THM.

Yes it works.

Now let’s start a debate... Nope hasn't hurt the engine.

Yep, that's it and that's PowerWagon896 (<= screen name, his wife drives the Daytona) from way upstate NY. He recently installed Mopar heads and has his quarter times down to 13.23. He's running Mopar heads/Mopar Headers/SC Flashpaq/170 Tstat/Fan&ESP switches.

He's pushing 13's with his 5.7 GoManGo.

I tryed to buy a 180 Thermostat today. First I went to Auto-Zone, they have never heard of anyone who wanted a 180 dgree thermostat and I must be a nutcase for wanting one. I gave them Mango's extensive list of crossreferenced part numbers and they could not find a single match. Inconceivable!

O'Riley Auto Parts was not any better.

Are these things made out of Unobtanium?

I took the list to PepBoys once to get a Stant T-stat and every singe one on the list they didn't carry, it was a special order.

You have to turn a blind ear to those folks when the start talking that "I never heard of...". It's sad but just tell them what you want to purchase and try to cut the yakking time to a minimum. Time is money; well at least it’s valuable.

Just hit NAPAOnline.com (got to NAPA Locator towards the bottom of the first screen on the left hand side) and get the number of a NAPA close by, call to see if they have one if not they will gladly order one for you. Rought 5 HEMI bucks.
