I saw one install, the opening was pointing to the inside (if I recall correctly). You would have to cut the pipe to fit the Y in.

I installed mine a full year ago.. ok ok.. my favorite exhaust shop installed it along with my Borla Cat-bak. If you order correctly the Y fits in front of the suitcase "Resonator". I removed my *resonator* and made true duel exhaust instead of the X-exhaust.

Now what was the question..? Ohh yea.. the low brow answer.. Work good. Sound good. Fit good. Cost good. Installation good when someone else does it.

good luck out there.

I called DMH and they said they Y pipe(know as flow tech) does not fit and whom ever is doing your exhaust should make one.

They are quoting me $200 labor w/ the switch mount on my dash board. Not bad?

I bet it would take a couple hours to fit/weld the dumps, run the wiring and mount the switch so the 200 figure sounds right in line.

They are quoting 2 hrs labor.

PS: I added aftermarket resonators and the car is TOO quiet now. This will allow me to have the best of both worlds.

For about $450

How well to they seal up when closed?

I met a guy who had them on his ram pickup with the hemi and when they were closed it sounded like he had an exhaust leak.

Daytone..... Do you have the drone problems running true duals?

I did have drone problems. The car sounded wicked but road trips basically sucked!

Now I installed aftermakrket resonators and the car is basically back to stock until you nail it then she roars.

With this mod I am thinking of getting the best of both worlds.

Ok I'm missing something here, it's a fact that H and x pipes create more HP, what's the deal with "true duals"?

<edit> Does crossing them over via X or H make them something other than duals?

I just want to learn what people are thinking and also I'm just being ana1 on this.

ok.. one question at a time...

No I've not had any problem with the cut-outs leaking. When shut they are basically sealed borla tuned exhaust.

Yes, when open the drone makes my teeth itch. But then when open my intention is seldom to putz around and since I use my manual option for shifting, I'm seldom likely to drop into the MDS range.

"True Duels" is a personal snide remark about the use of *resonator* or crossover pipes modern exhaust are using to balance the exhaust pressure on either side of the unit's affluent gas flow. This is more commonly called X or H pipes. My views of True Duels refers to an uninterrupted flow of exhausts from the E-manifold through tail pipe.

And finally unsolicited, Yes I do believe that HP is modestly improved. Impression being due to the fuel milage drop typical when cutout are used constantly. I might be wrong in this regard, again when I have the cutouts open, I am likely to be enjoying my units performance charactaristics.

Be safe out there.
