Default Friday Night Results 14.11@97.55 all stock

Houston Raceway Park is hosting the Mopar Nationals this weekend, and there were hundreds of cars from every era running very fast. Friday night was street racing night, but the big boys were dialing in there cars too. I doubt there have ever been more Hemi engines at one place. The Density altitude was under 500ft, very rare for Houston.

My first run 0-60 - 5.83 (From Superchips)
last run - Comm error - no time

1st run - track measured
r/t - well we won't mention how bad these were...
60' - 2.113
330 - 6.003
1/8 - 9.170 @ 77.44
1000 - 11.297
1/4 - 14.235 @ 97.89 mph

Last run - track measured
r/t - well we won't mention how bad these were...
60' - 2.082
330 - 5.933
1/8 - 9.080 @ 77.90
1000 - 11.821
1/4 - 14.119 @ 97.55 mph

Car is stock '06 Daytona GMG with latest Superchips load only.

Nothing has been added or removed from the car since new. The latest Superchips program was loaded, prior to the first run. Stock headers, stock intake, stock cam, etc. And it is using dealer installed hemi-oil, the standard 5w-20 stuff. No Royal Purple or anything like that.

Alls you need are some better tires getting your 60' under 2seconds and you'll crack the 13's. It will be alittle easier is you had an intake as well.

The guy that was with me, was running his Grand Marquis and had 5 runs in the 13's, and none of his 60 ft times were better than mine, and none were under 2 seconds. I know you can modify a car to get nearly any time, at some $$$$ cost. What I want, is the lowest ET possible, with a completely stock car. Money buys a low time, I want to do it with finesse. Trust me, I will get into the 13's, but I will do it by better understanding the mechanics of my car and exploiting it's strong points while minimizing it's weaknesses. There are a lot of things you can do to lower your ET, and I plan to find every one of them. If I wanted a quicker car I would have bought one, a 4200 lb was not designed to be a 1/4 mile racer. That would be insane. A 1/4 mile car should weigh 2500lbs and have a 300 hp, something like 8lbs per hp not the 12 lb/hp the Charger has. In order to get the same performance you would have to get the Charger up 525hp, and then find a way to hook that up with the track, 'cuz launching 4200lbs takes a lot of grip. Just ask the SRT owners at the track, they have a lot of power, too much for the available traction at launch. I hear the same story over and over "I spun 'em off the line".

I am just having fun...
