cool weather
Well everyone we took the cahrger on its first trip out of town. We got a best of 26 mpg and a worst of 19 (headwind). In the hill country of Texas it was in the high 30's cool for this time of year but along with 93 octane and low altitude the car flew. In the Panhandle its 3700 feet according to gps and the highest octane i can get is 90 or 91 but normally run 88. We did get into a little chasing contest with a 2000 or 2001 TA. We started at a light an d he was able totake me for about 50 feet and then we were even. From there we did the rolling start and we walked away from him, then from 60 up to 120 he was unable to keep up. You definately could tell we were geared differently. My buddies 2002 TA felt faster than the charger so maybe it was his driving but i would hope not. We did run the car yesterday morning and it was 24 degrees and it felt very fast.
yea where you from boy?( deliverance music playing in the background)
Here in Austin TX we have a stretch of road called the Devils back bone that goes from Austin to San Marcos. Really hilly and windy, totally fun to drive 90 plus speeds.

A wonderful place west of Amarillo called Bushland. Its more like a suberb but with acerage. I will let everyone know how it handles the snow unless its like last year only had 3 inches officailly more here. Our next trip down state will be in the megacab and trailer for live oak firewood so next summer more trips in the charger. We still are looking at the possibility of the superbee so i will keep you posted.
It was 48 degrees this morning on the way to work.
The tires on my Daytona would light up and smoke for as long as I wanted! Just turned off the ESP button, nothing special.
My guess is the a combination of a low density altitude, and colder rubber that has less traction.
Either way, it was fricking fantastic to nail the throttle and smoke the tires! As much as I wanted... And I wanted al LOT!
Just my 2 cents.
