although im not a fan of intrusions,its comes down to this that guy in the video did kill 2 woman and maybe just maybe without that device he would be free to kill again .same for that other woman .to make them illegal i dont see the point ,here is the thing if you dont plan on doing 114 on a side street and kill 2 young woman and destroy a family you have nothing to worry about.thats like saying the guy who video taped you killing someone violated your civil rights and the tape should be destroyed and cameras banned.again i dont like the idea but it isnt a bad one.there should be some accountabilty for peoples actions.hopfully this will get big media attention and people will maybe not do 114 on a side street.just my humble opinion.

 

Well lets down size the thinking. The computer is man made, It is never tested or checked once your car leaves the factory. You get into trouble its raining and you hit your breaks anti locks fail. You hit something, you swear you applied the breaks? You were only doing 60 Computer says you were doing 100 and no you never applied the breaks.Now your charged and guess what YOUR FU#K because a computer hard drive said so. Yes he's was driveing reckless but were you.? Your life one day will hang in the wind by a electronic part, Thats worst than going before a judge in divorce court......... I still want to spin the revolver before I pull the triger. [8D]

 

true i dont like the idea that the unit cant be calibrated and there could be a mechanical defect that could register you going faster.like you said if its a rainy night you apply breaking any if you start hydroplaning you actually would go fasteras you slide .i think though all by itself no one should take the edr at its word but all the facts together should .i mean that video that should the accident scene where the 2 girls where killed,the a$$hole tried to make you believe he was traveling 30-40 mph no way ,not from that damage ,but when presed that the edr said 114 he changed his story to 90 mph,justice served life in prison any butt hole doing 90-114 on a side street belongs in prison for life .its different (a little) if your on a highway with no one else at 3 in the morning and you gun it a little but on a side street thas nuts ,he propably never even saw the car pull out at t hose speeds .imagine that poor family burying 2 daughters because of that butthole,damn shame .what im trying to say is that if that edr is the only thing your going to be convicted by ,thats not right but if it in addition to other evidence does prove your going fast then ok.example like that of the girls that where killed .the guilty decision should be based on all the evidence not just the edr.
