I'll try again sorry
thats big brother. someday soonner then later we will have to be numbered and let out of our own houses. they wil control everything. who can eat, sleep, ect. thats what we are going to. i watched a special on tv about all cell phone tracking, onstar, nav systems all of them someone is watching. all of our emails from yahoo, ect. are saved and watched. scary!!!!!
I'll leave the debate on legality & privacy to our friends in law enforcement & other officers of the court.
I know defenses questions have been raised with regard to procedure for recovery of the EDR. In atleast one case a judge refused to hear the search and possession question, because the person taking possession was not an officer of the court or LEO; an insurance adjuster who turned the unit over to the DA, there-for search laws were not applicable. Your insurance, your repairman or any private party that takes your EDR, removes your right to court oversite of the search of your property or seizure of anything found within.
As wize as our fiends in the aftermarket are, it would seem an simple matter to replace the EDR with an actuator operating off the impact sensor.
I'm known to state the obvious so please forgive me, but I'll say again that the manufacture has in many cases engineered out the hazards that face the average driver in a performance machine. When the safeguards are bypassed or behaviors leap reason, the hazards grow exponentially.
As much as I dispise big brother, the answer is obvious, that being to maintain control of your unit within the specifics of local traffic regulations or take your need to speed, to a controlled environment such as a circle or flat track.
Be safe out there.

although im not a fan of intrusions, its comes down to this that guy in the video did kill 2 woman and maybe just maybe without that device he would be free to kill again .same for that other woman .to make them illegal i dont see the point ,here is the thing if you dont plan on doing 114 on a side street and kill 2 young woman and destroy a family you have nothing to worry about.thats like saying the guy who video taped you killing someone violated your civil rights and the tape should be destroyed and cameras banned.again i dont like the idea but it isnt a bad one.there should be some accountabilty for peoples actions.hopfully this will get big media attention and people will maybe not do 114 on a side street.just my humble opinion.
How many have scanned the manual again to see if BB is in the car
I think that was a very sad situation that fellow was in; I don't really care if the box was used against someone that took lives like that. 90-60-100+ mph it sounds like they all were excessive in that case and the outcome was just. They don't want me on the jury.
Do I want BB in my car, I would say not without my knowing.
How about this angle… can “they” tap GPS and tell how fast a car goes through a turn or the speed of a car between point A and B… probably. Insurance companies would love that information.
