Daytona would not start
I hopped into my car after work today and turned the key and the engine started..... then stopped. I tried again.... same thing. A round red light appeared in the left dash pod, near the low tire symbol, and would not turn off. Then my car would not even turn over. How odd?
Thankfully I had my trusty Superchips programmer and plugged it to check for an error message, butit said there were not any. I turned on the ignition while holding the trip reset button down, and the computer passed it's check. I tried to look at the trouble codes again, and a code that said something like "car key security lock enabled". So I reset the code, and it appeared to clear. I tried the key FOB by popping the trunk upen with the button. Then I tried to start the car and everything was good, and the red light dissappeared. The drive home was uneventful.
Say all you want about any other speed chips you want, but having my Superchips in the glovebox, saved me a trip to the dealership, a tow, and my wife nagging me over having to come and pick me up across town, during rush hour.
It just paid for itself!

I had the same thing happen, after puckering for a few minutes I figured out the security alarm had tripped, no honking horn or anything else like that. I got out of the car locked the doors, put the key in the door to unlock it (that reset the alarm) and it was fine from then on. It hasn't happend since that first time... go figure [&:]
na, didn't read no forms to figure that out. I sat in the car and start it like you did... it would run for 4-5 seconds and stop. It was panic at first thenstep back and think about it one thing at a time. Is it the battery, nope. Is it the starter, nope. Is it getting gas.... hum why is that little red light on... bingo.
