Default RAT! 05 engine in my 06

Well, I finally paid attention [:-]to the top of the engine with the cover off. I've got an 05 built engine in my 06 - it has the wires all crossing the manifold. So, "valve covers" are out for me. RATS!!!!![:@]

Hi, Marty. From what I understand, and I could have it wrong, engines built with 2005 build codes had some of the wiring running over the intake. After 2005, the wires, etc., were better routed around the intake. I bought my car just before Thanksgivng, 2005. It is a 2006 model, but the engine, apparently, was built under '05 specs. Thus, the wiring. I've been looking at the covers that cover the coils and plug wires, but it seems these covers won't work on '05 build code engines. Am I wrong?

Dave has old school plug wires running to his coilpacks/plugs.
