Default Got the Ipod adaptor

I just had the new Ipod adaptor installed. Not the FM modulated one but the one that plugs inline into the wiring behind the radio. I have the nav system and it work well so far. You do not lose any of the other functions. What happens is that the sat portion "hosts" the ipod and allows you to control the ipod through the radio controls and shows the data from the track on the radio screen whereas the FM modulated one does not. Still learing how to navigate with it so I'm not sure how smooth it is yet.

Hey Rugby,
Did you install the ipod adaptor, or did you have it installed? If you installed it, how hard was it to do? Also where did you get the adaptor from?

I had the local dealer install it. They charged me 2.5 hours labor for it. It is a Mopar part which you can get through the dealer. It sounds nice and clear much better than the FM ones.

The adaptor connector runs into the glove box which is where the ipod is stored. According to the book the adaptor is covered by the warranty as well.

How much from the dealer? I hate Apple, but love digital music, an addiction....

My dealer charged me $260... probably a bit much but I use it constantly now and anticipate regular use for the forseeable future
