Default speed limiter

I'm sure this question has been asked before but i can't find it. I have an r/t non road and track with Z rated tires but the limiter stops at 126 i know it will go faster and w have some roads here that you can do that speed with no problem. i thought i remember reading some where that if you can prove to the dealer you have z rated tiresthey can reflash and take the limiter off just like the road and track or am i mistaken. Thanks guys

Nope it hasn't been asked.

Most people that are going to put Z rated tires on their car have the means to change the speed limiter themselves (i.e. SuperChips) or acustom tune.

If I were a dealer Iprobably wouldn't do it for most Joe's off the street, it's a big liability. Give a dealer's service department a call and ask... let us know.

this issue has been on the board before.

my dealer will "reflash" the chip even without the tire. i told him to wait. now i have the tires, i will go. this is the technical manager.

the only reason there is a limiter is the tires. they should do it.

maybe the techs at the dealer have other input, like unofficial afterhours access to the computer module.

otherwise as mentioned, aftermarket.
