Project 1939 1/2 ton Pickup. Pics Inside.
Ok guys, I wasn't lookin for a new Project but this 39 just landed in my Brother in laws lap for free from his gramps. He couldnt fix it up by himself so I told him I would help him as long as I could cuise it when its done. It is a 1939 DODGE 1/2 Ton truck and everything is complete and original. It has been in a garage for decades. There is only light rust and the 70 HP inline 6 with the 4 speed tranny are still in operablecondition, my compadres gramps said that it just needs the crack in the exhaust manifold fixed and some new carbs. This is our first try at a complete resto so but we plan on doing most of the work. I have a bigass compressor and a decent set of tools. We want to take it all apart and remove all the rust that we can find, then prep everything for black primer. We plan to put a new engine but thats later.
Me and my brother inlaw started taken her apart and grinding rust off. Here are some pix of the drama.
Here is a link to the photos. Oh I think I want a dodge drivetrain but I dont know what truck to get the new frame off of.? What do you guys recommend
