I am the proud new owner of a 1978 Dodge Street Van. I know nothing about this vehicle. She came to me after being in storage on a ranch for half a decade. She runs so good I am about to have her smog certified in San Francisco!!! I hope there is someone out there who can give me some background info on this model van.
It has a diamond pattern faux leather roof liner and **** carpeting--weird!! It's original colors are Lime green with Orange trim weird!!! There are no catalogues that mention this particular model. It's got a 318 automatic powertrain.Thanks for taking the time to educate me...vc

 

Was probably an aftermarket addition. Back in the 70's costomized vans were very popular. My '74 Dodge van had a airbrused mural and stripes on the exterior along with a raised scoop on the roof that opened to let air inside. Also had wheel flares, front spoiler, and functional side pipes. The interior had **** carpeting over 2 inches of foam on the floor, an ice box and sink built into a counter, red crushed velvet and long white fur on the walls and ceiling, a wall built just behind the side doors with a diamond shape opening. Behind the wall was a queen-sized bed covered with short red fur. The walls were covered in long white fur with a 2' x 4' mirror mounted on the ceiling with a black light mounted over the wall opening. Swivel/reclining captains chairs up front with an overhead console above the windshield containing a tape player, speakers, andswitches for interior lights. Perfect setup for cruising, camping, ond going to the drive-in movies (back into the parking space, open the back doors and watch the movie laying in bed). Belonged to a custom van club that had 300 members. When we went somewhere, we had a van caravan a mile long. This van was a daily driver.
