Default stock carb for 66 coronet

I just picked up a 66 coronet 440 4dr w/ a poly 318. It has a newer style holley 2bbl on it that is in pretty rough shape. I've read/heard that this engine runs better with the stock oldschool 2bbl carter or stromburg. I'm just keepin this bad boy stock for now since it's a matching #'s car and my daily driver. Can anyone assist me with a part # or something so I can atleast find the stock carb. I'm having no luck thusfar. From what I've found online, in 66 they used the stromburg and changed to carter in 67... i have no idea if this is true, it also listed about 8 different part #'s for the stromburg carbs for the 66 poly 318's...?? (I'm not exactly a mechanic lol forgive me if i'm asking stupid questions or bringing up redundent information) I've also exhausted all angles in trying to find the service manual for it, even dodge told me "good luck".
Any ideas or info?
thanks
