Question Help! Dodge truck rear axle

Hi, my name is edd, i have a 1985 dodge power ram w150. I know i need to change my pinion bearing in the rear axle, maybe even the ring gear and pinion gear. Problem is i can't get the diff. To come out. I've taken off these items to get it out. Diff. Cover (of course) the set screw, the lock pin, i pushed the axles in took the (c)clips of and took the axles out....and lastly, i took the bearing caps off. Everyone tells me to be careful, it could fall out..but guys let me tell you ...it aint falling out...i've pulled...tugged...pryed...basically everything but put a come-along on it..it's a 9.25\355 what gives???? Is there a easy button somewhere i can push?????

Before you take the differential case out, loosen the drive pinion nut while the gears are meshed or it will be quite fun doing that after you get the ring gear and case out. Other than that, its not visibly hanging up is it? just keep prying on her. At this point just have something soft to protect if from the impact with the ground when it pops out. See if you can get some penetrant in there to loosen anything up that is holding you back that you can not see.

If you are going to replace the ring gear and drive pinion, just tap firmly on the drive pinion to loosen up the ring gear and case hopefully. I am not saying it will work for sure, just something to try in that situation.

Well, i've had the pinion nut off since it dropped the drive shaft, but i really didnt know if the pinion shaft and the diff. need to come out together all in one sweet motion, or ...what... ya know? i guess my main concern is..#1 how much force to use. #2 weither or not to use a come-along or similiar device, #3 if it's this hard to get out, will i be able to get it back in without any damage. but i just wanted to throw my problem out there and see some ideas. thanks for your help.

You may need to rent a diff housing spreader.
