questions about a dodge.
Im new here saying hello, ill have pics tomorrow, so here is what I have
1974 dodge power wagon clubcab adventurer, w200.
it has 60k original miles it is 4X4 Long Box, this truck was nearly rust free before my mom moved to the beach, it has been used on her property at the beach for the last 6 years not daily but a few times a month. I thought it was going to be in worse shape than it looks to be in, there are no body panels that have rusted through, the truck still has 99% of its paint, there are 2 spots in the bed by the cab where it has rusted through, i can cut thoes parts out and replace them.
so here is my questions where should i look for potential rust issues to the chassis, all of the seams on the cab will have to be ground and primed and painted so i am going to glaze them with bondo so that you cannot see them. my questions is in regards to Chasis, and what is the best way to stop and prevent rust in the future, i was thinking of lifting the box and the cab up and hitting the whole frame with about a 50grit wire wheel / grinding wheel to pull off all of the rust and then painting it with rustoleum. i am ok with the body work, but i am seaking some advice on the frame.
