Default Frame Welding Help

I have a crack and gaping hole in my frame ('76 D100) where my steering box attaches to the frame. Not so much from rust as it is from poor design. I am planning on having this professionally fixed because I am no master welder and do understand the complexity of welding on a front end. BUT i want to make sure that the welder does it right. What are some things I should look for? What type of welding should he use (MIG, TIG, Stick). Is it even worth it haha? Ive thrown some pics below just so you have some idea what im talking about. Any and all help is appreciated.

For me a real tig man should be able to fix that right.

Mig would be my 2nd choice.

If its worth it to you that's all you need!
