what year is this 318 ??
Hi all
Just purchased this 66 charger and from what I see this isn't its original engine. Before I start replacing parts I want to be sure I put in the good ones and not just what was already in there. It should be a 318 poly easily identifiable by the wave form of the valve covers and 2 top bolts on each cover. Mine isn't like that. My engine casting number is hard to read but for sure its a 318. I looked at stock mopar to compare and can't find what I see. If you can look at the picture and let me know what numbers you see.
Thanks for you contribution.

It's hard to make out the 4th and 6th # but it does have two zeros in it that seems to be a non poly 318. See if you can find the casting date in it. Since it's from a transitioning period it would not be surprising to see the later used la style in it. Depend on when and what plant it was produced in.

THKS Moparite for the reply and the link to My Mopar. I'll look to see if I can find the casting date if there is one. If I recall correctly I seen somewhere that dates were put on post 67. If that is the case then this 318 might just be a 67.
