The 318 poly in this car is kaput! I got a good 5.9 engine block laying around i got out of an 1996 Dodge Ram 1500. What tranny should i marry to this block to make this an easy upgrade?

You're going to need to change a bunch of stuff to update it. Your parking brake is on the tailshaft of the transmission, the bolt pattern will be a problem, your shifter is cable operated and engine mounts may be an issue. I'd see if I could find a poly head 318 (up to 1967) to replace it, or if it were me (and I'm the odd uncle here), I'd try to find an early Dodge Red Ram 241 or Super Red Ram 270 Hemi engine. They have about the same power but a LOT more visual appeal. You could also get a big block engine and transmission and drop them in. Plymouth didn't have a big block that year but there is room for it.
